Rugged Science is a designer and manufacturer of ruggedized, embedded computer products. We specialize in custom prototype development as well as sustained production runs. Our products combine metal enclosures, computers, displays, and electronics. All of these items require interconnections through copper and fiber cable assemblies. Rugged Science is currently in need of a Production Technician at our Sparks, MD facility. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to build a diverse range of custom Rugged Science products for Industrial and Government applications.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints to accurately assemble custom Rugged Science products
• Manufacture custom cable assemblies
• Perform quality inspections to ensure the products meet quality standards
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
• Rework and/or repair products according to engineering specifications
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
• Collaborate with Engineering and provide valuable input to increase manufacturability of products
• Accurately track labor time and material usage within ERP system (Global Shop)
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation

Key Skills

• Two or more years of mechanical assembly experience
• Great attention to detail
• Basic computer skills
• Desire to work in a team environment
• Electrical assembly and point-to-point wiring experience (preferred)
• Soldering experience (preferred)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Salary Range

$15–$25 per hour

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (overtime may be available based on scheduling requirements)
